You might have noticed that Urbino Ag. now has a range of beautiful handmade soaps and lip balms. You might be wondering why we decided to create these new products and what makes them stand out against other luxury brands.
Well, we love soap, but we couldn't find anything on the market that we felt comfortable with in terms of harsh ingredients or ingredients that we felt weren't good for the environment or for our animal friends.
For example, our products do not use any palm oil. This is a big sacrifice for soap makers as palm oil is an amazing ingredient for hardening soap and is relatively cheap and almost sets hard at room temperature.
The down side, palm oil "has resulted in significant acreage losses of the natural habitat of the orangutan, of which both species are endangered"* Knowing this, you'd be surprised how many luxury brands continue to use palm oil in their products!
Instead, our handmade soaps are crafted using traditional cold process method with at least 45% Australian extra-virgin olive oil. We only use carefully selected natural ingredients including butters like Shea, Kokum, Cocoa and Mango; natural oils such as Jojoba, Avocado, Almond, Argan and Hemp; and cleansing clays like Australian red, green and white, Bentonite & Activated Charcoal.
We use no synthetic fragrances, the scents come from natural and pure aromatherapy essential oils. What's more, our soaps are cured for at least 4-6 weeks to ensure a stable and gentle bar.
